85% of All Properties Sold in 2021 Were Houses

In 2021, houses accounted for more than 85% of all property transactions registered by the Land Registry, the most significant proportion since 1996. Clearly a result of the ‘search for space’ that has characterised the Liverpool housing market this year.

If you’re considering moving to Liverpool, you’re probably curious about the advantages of doing so. Moving should be an enjoyable experience, whether exploring Liverpool or unpacking boxes. Here are some ideas to help you determine whether Liverpool is the right city for you.

Liverpool Living

Liverpool property is still fairly priced, despite its status as a lively city with a lot to offer. Compared to many other UK cities, it offers a diverse range of housing alternatives to meet a wide range of budgets.

The City Centre has undergone a tremendous transformation and received millions of pounds in investment in recent years. The town of Aintree is known for its world-famous racetrack and its beautiful residential streets and open spaces. It’s a popular school district with good accessibility to the rest of the city, and it’s a popular residential area for families.

Location and Transportation

Liverpool is well connected to the rest of the North West. Merseyrail trains frequently run throughout the city and beyond. Lime Street station connects to a number of UK cities, including Manchester, Birmingham, and London, with frequent West Coast mainline trains.

There’s also Liverpool John Lennon Airport, which services the rest of the UK and Europe and is home to EasyJet and Ryanair. The city’s location puts you near the coast and various beautiful beaches, as well as the Lancashire countryside, which is only a short drive away.

Liverpool Rental and Property Pricing

It’s worth noting that the share of gross income spent on rent by private renters in England and Wales is just modestly higher than it was five years ago, at 28.3%. Renters in the North East and South West pay a lower proportion of their income than they did in 2015/16. The only region with a proportionate rise in spending of more than 1% is the North West.

Renters’ average incomes have increased by 8.8% during the last five years. Rental homes are in high demand right now. In Q2 2021, average asking rents increased by 2.6% year over year (Rightmove).

Shopping, Nightlife and Culture

There’s a wide range of shopping, cultural, and nightlife alternatives to choose from. There are nearly as many museums and art galleries as there are people. The Tate Liverpool, Merseyside Maritime Museum, and The Walker Art Gallery are all located in the city centre. To discover more about the world’s most renowned music band, go to The Beatles Story.
