Let’s not forget about Lark Lane, just a stone’s throw away from the park. Schools

There are plenty of options when it comes to schools in the area of Aigburth for your little ones. Sudley Infant School is a popular choice amongst parents, and there’s even a follow-on Junior School too. St. Hilda’s Church of England School is a great choice of secondary school, with excellent results in their GCSE results. The stunning location in Sefton Park also allows for a picturesque walk to school. St. Margaret’s Church of England Academy is another great choice. The all-boys school not only educates up to GCSE level but also has an option to stay on to study for A-Levels there too. Auckland College is another great choice in the area, where your child can study from nursery level all the way up to secondary school.

Shopping

Both Aigburth Road and Lark Lane are home to a host of branches from big brands, as well as numerous independent stores and boutiques that you’ll enjoy perusing. The Old Police Station is host to both yoga and flea markets regularly throughout the year. Then you have the Arts Hub 47 which is a community cooperative shop for local artists and designers, where you can find unique handmade pieces to gift or decorate your home.

Food & Drink

If you enjoying dining out or stopping off during the day for a rest and recharge with your favourite hot or cold drink then Aigburth is a great area for that. Both Aigburth Road and Lark Lane are peppered with restaurants, cafes and coffee shops for you to peruse. Justino’s Aigburth has become a favourite restaurant within the city, with people from all over willing to visit for their delicious food and lively entertainment. Aigburth’s Christakis’ restaurant is another well-known eatery with piquant Greek and Mediterranean cuisine that on Fridays and Saturdays is joined by singing and dancing. Toby Carvery Aigburth is a firm favourite within the area too, thanks to the homely roast dinner on offer everyday of the week.

Parks & Walks

If you live in Aigburth there are multiple places to enjoy a long or short walk, with plenty to see along the way. Sefton Park is the obvious choice with 235 acres to enjoy at any time of the year. Festival Gardens can also be found in Aigburth, near Aigburth Road train station, whilst they have fell a little into disrepair recently, it’s still a beautiful place for a stroll. Otterspool Promenade is another great place for a walk or bike ride in Aigburth. The straight path will take you straight into the city centre. But it’s also the perfect place for a run, with no traffic to stop your flow.

Transport

Transport into the city is readily available with Aigburth Road train station taking you straight into Liverpool Central in about ten minutes. Bus routes include the 60, 82 and 82A which will also take you right into the heart of the city, with a typical bus journey lasting around 25 minutes. Getting to Liverpool John Lennon Airport takes less than 20 minutes too, if you’re heading on a break, or you have a longer commute to work.

Entertainment

There’s plenty to keep you entertained whilst living in Aigburth from the stunning Sefton Park to Aigburth Cricket club where you can enjoy watching a simple game of cricket, or take part in your own game of cricket, squash, lacrosse or rugby. Sefton Park plays host to a number of events throughout the year, with both the Palm House and the park itself playing host, this October will see the North West’s largest authentic celebration of Oktoberfest descend on the park. Aigburth People’s Hall is a private members club located on the edge of Sefton Park, it’s a great place to host parties and weddings, with stunning views and a cosy atmosphere to enjoy. Otterspool Adventure Centre is a great place to take the kids, the outdoor park area is filled with plenty to keep children entertained and an ideal place to burn some energy. They often host themed events throughout the year too, with their Christmas extravaganza being a firm favourite amongst families.
