St Anthony of Padua RC Primary School is a hugely popular choice within the area, as is Liverpool College, here they teach students from the age of four until they’re 18.

Mossley Hill is a popular area in Liverpool thanks to the number of outdoor spaces to enjoy in the area. Just on the doorstep is the expansive Calderstones Park the 94-acre park is home to woodland, a lake and fields. The true beauty of the park lies in the one thousand year old oak tree, as well as the picturesque Japanese and old English gardens. The ice cream parlour is always a firm favourite amongst the young ones too. Sefton Park is just a 17 minute walk from the area too, with 235 acres in the Grade I listed park to stroll through, there’s plenty to see and enjoy in this wonderful location with popular playground, the large boating lake and lets not forget the stunning Sefton Park Palm House as well as two cafes to rest and recharge. Not only are there beautiful parks in the area of Mossley Hill to enjoy but there are numerous playing fields that make great locations for getting outdoors for a walk, playing outdoor games with family and friends, or even walking the dog on a daily basis.

Transport

Trains from Mossley Hill to Lime Street run frequently and take from 10-15 minutes to get there, depending on which train you get. This close tie with the city centre makes it a great place for people commuting into Liverpool and even those who like to spend their spare time taking in the culture of Liverpool. There are various bus routes that will take you from Mossley Hill to Liverpool city centre, including the 61, 80, 80A and 86, all of which take around 35 minutes to get into the city.

Entertainment

As well as enjoying the local parks and plenty of eateries in the area, there is also Sudley House which makes a great day out in Mossley Hill. Sudley House, a Victorian House owned by merchant George Holt, is one of few period homes that still have the distinct Victorian style of decor, with many of its original features still in place. What’s more the house is home to the only surviving Victoria merchant art collection in Britain that is still in its original location. If visiting Victorian Houses isn’t how you’d like to spend your downtime, then you might prefer to keep active with the Mossley Hill Tennis Club or the Mossley Hill Athletic Club which both run in the area. The later hosts a variety of sports including cricket, archery, football and hockey. Just on your doorstep is the Sefton Park Palmhouse which hosts numerous events through the year, from music events, shows, dance classes and even workouts throughout the week. The park is also quite a lively place to visit with the Liverpool International Music Festival previously being held there, as well as the popular Liverpool Food and Drink Festival.
