Schools

For families moving to Halewood, schools in the area will be high on the priority list, and there are plenty of options for all ages. Starting with nurseries, you’ll find St. Mary’s nursery and The Ducklings Day Nursery on offer here, both offering warm and inviting places for your little ones. There is a large selection of primary schools in the area, Halewood Church of England Primary Academy stands out amongst those with an Outstanding rating in their latest Ofsted report, here they teach children from ages three to 11. Other notable primary schools include St Marks Catholic Primary School, St Andrew The Apostle Primary School, Yew Tree Primary Academy and Holy Family Catholic Primary School. Halewood Academy is the standout secondary school in Halewood, they received good in their latest Ofsted inspection. Finch Woods Academy is another mixed-gender secondary school in the Halewood suburb.

Shopping

Halewood has their own shopping centre which hosts well-known stores like Iceland, Specsavers, Card Factory, Tesco and more. There’s also plenty of smaller convenience stores dotted around the area, ensuring you can get everything you need locally to you. Parks & Walks

There’s plenty of greenery in Halewood that make it beautiful place to take daily walks, and there’s a couple of parks to enjoy too, Halewood Park and Halewood Doorstep Green. Halewood Park is vast with this plenty within including an environment centre, playground, cycleway, events and activities held each year and a ‘workout’ green gym too.

Transport

Halewood train station is an easy way to get to both Liverpool city centre and Manchester Oxford Road too. The former will take you around 20 minutes to get into the city. Whilst the train to Manchester will take around 45 minutes to arrive. Halewood is handily located for an easy commute into the city centre, but also has close links to the Knowsley Expressway which easily connects you to the M62 and M57. The bus from Halewood to take you into Liverpool usually takes around 50 minutes, and you can use the routes 75 or 79.

Entertainment

The Barn Halewood at Yew Tree Farm is an excellent place for family entertainment, with the ability to hire it out for parties and weddings. They also host regular events here that are worth taking note of if you’re looking for this to do close to home. The New Hutte Neighbourhood Centre is run by Knowsley Council and there are often multiple events and classes happening here each week for you to take your family to.
