Schools

High quality schools are scattered throughout Salford with numerous primary schools to choose from, including St. John’s Church of England School, Riverview Primary School and St. Joseph’s RC Primary school. Secondary school options include The Albion Academy, All Hallows RC High School, Buile Hill Academy and Malborough Road Academy.

If you’re looking for shopping in Salford, then you can head to MediaCityUK where you’ll find a vast array of high street brands, as well as outlet stores to find the best bargains. There’s also the Salford Shopping Centre where you can find your best known brands all under one roof.

Food & Drink

There are of course pubs and eateries dotted around the city, but the best hub of food and drink spots are of course in the Salford Quays area with must-visit places like The Botanist. The Alchemist or Marco’s New York Italian. There’s your favourite casual places like Nando’s, Wagamamma’s, Bella Italia, Pizza Expresso and Turtle Bay, as well cafes to stop for a quick coffee and Craftbrew where you can pair a craft beer with a sandwich.

Parks & Walks

Salford, despite it’s metropolitan buzz, is considerably green, with 20 public parks in the area, as well as five nature reserves, ideal for when you’re looking to take in some greenery and open space. Buile Hill Park is the largest park in Salford with 86 acres to enjoy and a Grade II listed hall that’s owned by the Salford City Council. Peel Park opened in 1846, it’s located on the flood plain of the River Irwell and runs adjacent to the University of Salford and at the foot of the Salford Museum and Art Gallery. There’s plenty to see in the park with sculptures, tree trails, and circular flower displays scattered around this beautiful landscape.

Transport

One of the huge benefits of moving to Salford is the close links it has to Manchester City Centre, with great transport connections to chose from. The Metrolink, the Manchester tram line takes you through Salford, The Quays, MediaCityUK. There is also nine railway stations, the main ones being Salford Crescent and Salford Central. From Salford Central it takes just three minutes on the train to get to Manchester Victoria. From this station you can also get to Leeds, Kirkby, Rochdale, Clitheroe, Stalybridge, Southport, Blackburn and more. Salford is intersectered by the M60, M61, M62 and the M602, ensuring you have quick and easy access to the city centre, other areas of Greater Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds.

Entertainment

There’s plenty to keep busy with in Salford city, MediaCityUK is home to the BBC and ITV, as well as cinemas, galleries and theatres. There’s plenty of shopping and dining spots to take in too. You can even book a guided tour around the BBC. There’s even a I’m A Celebrity Jungle Challenge that you can take part in. The Lowry is home to two theatres, an art gallery, studio space, bars, cafes and a standout restaurant. There’s also something on to enjoy from comedy and drama to opera and live music.
